The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)

The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) is a branch of the one Christian church. We affirm with all Christian Churches the historic Nicene and Apostles' Creeds, and observe the two universally practiced sacraments of Baptism and the Lord's Supper. We belong to both the National Council of Churches (U.S.A.) and the World Council of Churches.

As Protestants, rooted in the Reformation of the 16th century, we affirm the freedom of the individual conscience before God, the authority of the scriptures in faith and life, the freedom of the pulpit, and the free gift of God's love and grace for the undeserving offered in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. As Presbyterians, we are governed locally by elders elected in the church session. Local churches are joined together to form Presbyteries, which oversee the work of local congregations.

The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) is diverse and inclusive, receiving as members all who profess faith in Jesus Christ regardless of race or human distinction, welcoming all who are baptized to the Lord's Table regardless of age or denominational affiliation, and inviting both women and men to serve as ordained ministers and elders.
